Embankments in the emirate of Sharjah: walks, entertainment, location

Sharjah is the third largest emirate in the UAE. A relatively large number of hotels and hotel complexes have been built here, and there are convenient beaches on the shores of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. However, after a beach holiday, many tourists and guests of the United Arab Emirates prefer walking. You can do this on one of the Sharjah embankments, which are located within the capital.

Al Corniche

This is the most famous place on the coast of the emirate. It was built relatively long ago, extends from the Radisson Hotel on the Blue (Radisson Blue) to the Sheraton complex. Here it was possible to combine a convenient city beach and the promenade in Sharjah. Trees are planted along, there is a place for a relaxing holiday, benches and comfortable gazebos are installed. There are special paths for walking and cycling.

  • The central highway E111 passes near the southern part, the distance to it is 200 m.
  • There are public transport stops (buses), parking spaces.

The Al Corniche promenade in Sharjah is convenient because a large amusement park has been built nearby, there is a water park and an aquarium. You can walk to them in 5-10 minutes. This is a convenient place to combine a relaxing holiday and active entertainment for children and adults. Located along the Khalid Bay (Khalid), in a place where most of the emirate’s beach hotels are concentrated. There are many tourists walking here, there are restaurants and bars. The disadvantage is that there are no shopping centers, large supermarkets nearby. But there are many cafes and restaurants.

Important: drinking alcohol is prohibited in the Emirate of Sharjah. For this they can be fined or deported from the country.

Al Qasba

It is located along the water channel of the same name. The main attraction is the big Ferris wheel. Cafes and restaurants are open all day and evening, street vendors offer drinks, snacks, ice cream. Convenient place to stay with children. On the waterfront of Sharjah Al-Kasba there is a large cinema. Here you can also book a boat for a short walk along the canal. It leads to Lake Buheir.

In the reviews, tourists and independent travelers note the atmosphere of the area. It is as close as possible to the traditional European, there are elements of Arabic architecture. Traditional dhow boats run along the canal. Art centers are located here , and the works of young and famous masters of the United Arab Emirates are often exhibited.
