The Ministry of Tourism of Montenegro, together with the National Tourism Organization, announced the launch of a large-scale program to support and develop the tourism industry for 2025. This initiative is aimed at helping the tourism business, which has experienced difficulties in recent years due to various crises, as well as activating the creation of new tourism products and services.
The main goals of the program include:
- Increasing the competitiveness of Montenegro in the international tourism market
- Expanding the range and quality of tourism services
- Extending the tourist season to attract visitors all year round
- Support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector
- Implementation of innovations and digital technologies in the tourism sector
- Improving the level of service and infrastructure
- Promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism development
These measures are intended not only to improve the tourist experience of visitors, but also to create favorable conditions for investment and development of regions of Montenegro, especially those that are less popular with tourists. The program is expected to help restore tourist flow and increase industry revenues in 2025.
The Montenegrin authorities note that these steps will help the country strengthen its position in the tourism market, offering a variety of destinations: from beach holidays and mountain hikes to cultural and gastronomic tours. In addition, special attention is paid to supporting ecotourism and developing new routes.
The programme also includes educational initiatives to improve the skills of tourism workers and promote Montenegro as a safe and attractive destination for international travellers.
For tourists this means:
- Better quality services and more choice
- Convenient transport links and updated infrastructure
- More options for off-peak season recreation
- Development of new types of tourism, such as cycling and eco-tourism
Experts emphasize that this program is an important step for sustainable growth of tourism, which will be able to benefit not only large cities, but also small settlements in Montenegro.
