How to cook chevapchichi from Montenegro according to the national recipe

Meat is the main ingredient in traditional Montenegrin dishes. Prosciutto , a meat plate, Negush steak can be ordered in restaurants and cafes of resort towns. If you need a small snack, cevapcici in Montenegro will replace classic cutlets or factory sausages.

Ingredients for cevapcici

These delicious sausages are made from several types of meat, fried on an open fire or grill. Advantage – you can prepare in advance by placing sausages in the refrigerator. Cevapcici is served with fried potatoes or vegetables. They should be hot, with little fat. Montenegrin olive oil is used for taste.

For the preparation of cevapcici in Montenegro, the following ingredients are used:

  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • minced meat, in Montenegro they take pork – 0.5 kg;
  • olive oil – 1 tbsp. the spoon;
  • ground black pepper, to taste;
  • salt;
  • paprika;
  • mineral water – 50 ml.

In the preparation of cevapcici, Montenegro leads among the countries of the Balkan Peninsula. They are served at the popular resorts of the country and in its continental part.

Minced meat must be prepared independently. To do this, take pork and beef meat in a ratio of 1: 1. For fat content, you can add chopped lard. The mixture must be passed through a meat grinder twice. Mineral water is added to the resulting composition and mixed by hand for 10-15 minutes. Olive oil is poured over the minced meat, it is not diluted with water. It should form a film on the surface.

Cevapcici recipe Montenegro.

  1. Place minced meat in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer. Time – 10-12 hours.
  2. Mix the composition again with your hands.
  3. Cut off the neck of a plastic bottle.
  4. The neck is attached to the meat grinder.
  5. Minced meat is passed through it, short, 5-7 cm sausages are formed.
  6. So the sausages are full, they will not fall apart when frying.
  7. The brazier or grill must be greased with oil.
  8. Chevapchichi from Montenegro are fried for 8-10 minutes.

Sausages are served hot, the fat should drain from their surface.

Dishes with cevapcici

It is not accepted to eat Montenegrin sausages without a side dish. They are served with fried potatoes, boiled rice. Greens are added to the national dish – parsley, onion. You can use tomatoes and cucumbers, make a salad.
