They are located in the north of the country, in several provinces. Changbaishan Recreation Center is a ski resort famous for its slopes and service.

Location and description
Changbaishan Recreation Center (Changbei Mountain) is located in Changbaishan Nature Reserve in Erdaobei Township, Antu and Jilin Province. This is one of the northern regions of China, nearby is the winter residence of the Prime Minister of China – the resort of Yabuli. Nearby is the second largest ski resort in China, Alshan. It is the northernmost autonomous province of the country. In Yabuli, the main training complex for calibration of the national team operates. In Alshan, the training camp of the national ski team is held. Changbaishan Training Base is one of the base schools for ski enthusiasts in the country.

The ski resort is surrounded by dense forests of the Changbaishan Nature Reserve, which further enhances the beauty of the resort. Mount Changbei, located on the border between China (the southern border of Jilin Province) and North Korea, is the most sacred ancient mountain for Koreans (in ancient times, Korea – that is, the ancient kingdom of Goyoseon) was not limited to the Korean Peninsula, but extended north into southern Manchuria, or what is the current Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Nearby is the border region of Inner Mongolia and the maritime provinces of modern Russia, the southernmost seaport of which is Vladivostok).
Resort Features
Snow quality in Changbaishan is comparable to the Alpine regions of France and Italy. But there are few trails for cross-country skiing. Off-piste skiing is recommended only for the most experienced skiers who know how to cope with the terrain, a small avalanche. This increases the chance of an accident while on vacation.
The main attraction of the recreation center is the stunning views from the mountain slope to Tianchi Lake. Changbai Mountain is a dormant volcano, the last eruption of Changbai Tingchi volcano is estimated by geophysicists to have occurred around CE 1200. But since the ski resort offers bathing in its natural hot springs, it can be assumed that the volcano is dormant, not extinct. The view of Lake Tienchi, located at the bottom of the caldera of a volcano or crater, is very beautiful.
Trails and descents of the base
Changbaishan Ski Resort has two 3,000-meter pistes, each with a medium-level slope. There are also two northern slopes, which are about 5000 meters long. They pass through unspoiled forests and with additional sections that are dedicated to skiing, freestyle skiing is possible here. But these sites can accommodate no more than 100 people due to the risk of collision.
The tracks and trails in Changbaishan are well maintained. There is a lot of snowfall here, at the beginning of the season, from November to early May. The constant low winter temperatures ensure deep snow on the runs and trails. The ski resort has one cable car that takes skiers to the top of the mountain. You can go snowboarding. As an addition to the cable car, you can hire a snowmobile to reach other off-piste locations such as the Changbaishan-Tianshi volcano rim.
Ancillary facilities operate here, such as a ski training center, ski equipment rental, bars, restaurants, hotels and a hostel, accommodating about 400 people. The resort has a team of professional ski instructors to help beginners learn their skiing and snowboarding skills.
