Types of beaches in Montenegro

Beach prices
The cost of rest depends on the resort and the season. The most expensive prices on the beaches of Montenegro in Budva and Herceg Novi. Expenses in them are higher by 10-20% than in the city center.
Budva Riviera

Where to relax near Budva:
- Slavic. In the city of Budva, length – 4 km. In summer there are many tourists, the cost of food is higher than in the city center.
- Kamenevo. The water is clean, protected by a mountain range, there is no wind. Bus from Budva – 1.5 Euro. You can bring a towel or mattress with you to save money.
- Morgren. Prices on the beach of Montenegro are higher than in the rest. It is located within the city limits, the width of the sandy strip is up to 80 m. It is hot during the day due to the lack of wind.
- Saint Stephen. It is near the resort island of the same name, from Budva you can walk (40 minutes) or take a bus. Drinks and food are taken with you.
- Yaz. On the way from Tivat airport. The coast consists of a mixture of sand and small pebbles.
- The entry is gentle, suitable for children. Prices on Jaz Beach in Montenegro are overpriced, there is one cafe and two food stalls.
The rest of the places to stay in the Budva Riviera are small. For a secluded sunbathing, you can choose Richard’s Head, which is near the Old City.
Kotor Riviera
This resort includes the cities of Kotor, Perast and Risan. Attraction – Boka-Kotor Bay. There are sea excursions on it. The water in the bay is warmer than on the rest of the Adriatic coast. The coatings in the bay are concrete, their prices are average in Montenegro. Tourist liners often visit the harbor.
Beaches of the Kotor Riviera:
- Kindness. Located in the city, consists of pebbles, surrounded by rocks. In the summer a little touristy, trails and residential buildings are far away.

The cities of Herceg Novi, Igalo, Meline, Kumbor are located on its territory. The coast is sandy, in the city there is a concrete coating. There are natural pebble places for recreation. A new place for independent travel is the resort of Meline in Montenegro. Here you can sunbathe on the sand or concrete slabs. Prices on the beaches are 3-5% lower in Montenegro.
Beaches near Herceg Novi:
- Igalo. It runs from the Sutorina river delta to the famous Galeb restaurant. The composition has a sandy part, several concrete sections. Suitable for evening walks and daytime swimming.
- Zanzhitse. 4 km from Herceg Novi, in the Miriste valley. The entrance to the water is gentle, you can sunbathe and relax with children. The coating is sandy, cleaned often. Drinks and food are bought from shops nearby.
- Miriste. Well-maintained beach in the suburbs of Herceg Novi. You can try the traditional dishes of the Lustica peninsula.
- Rose. There are beautiful views of the forest in the mountains, near a small fishing village.
Rest in Herceg Novi can be combined with treatment and restoration of health. There are sanatoriums, hospitals and spa centers. Igalo has a large wellness center.
Ulcinj
In the south of Montenegro there is a large valley in which the city of Ulcinj stands. Features – basalt sand. Nearby is the border with Albania, where you can go on an excursion or shopping. In July and August, daytime temperatures rise above +30°C. You need to take hats with you, children are unsafe during the day because of the risk of getting sunstroke.
