How to quickly get from Ajman to Dubai, the best routes

For a family holiday in the UAE, you can consider the emirate of Ajman. It has a small territory, most of the local population lives in the capital of the same name. On the coast of the Persian Gulf, which washes the beaches of the emirate, there are several good hotels. But a quiet holiday can get boring, and then you can go to other regions of the country. To do this, you need to know the route and travel options between Ajman and Dubai – distance, travel time, modes of transport.

Features of the location of the emirate

It is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, territorially immediately beyond the border with Sharjah. This small emirate with the capital of the same name. The peculiarity is that it is relatively calm here, well suited for family holidays. But after 2-3 days of being on the beach and swimming in the sea, you want more entertainment, and then tourists and guests of the United Arab Emirates begin to plan a trip to the largest and most developed city in the country – Dubai.

To do this, you can choose a regular bus, taxi or rent a car. Considering the factors separating Ajman and Dubai – distance, route scheme, trip duration. The road runs along the coast, one highway leads to the metropolis from the emirate. This is convenient for independent travelers, there is no need to choose routes.

What you need to know about the trip from Ajman to the emirate of Dubai, distance and other factors that affect the trip:

  • The distance between the emirates is 30-45 km, depending on the point of arrival.
  • Travel time – 30-40 minutes. The roads are relatively empty; traffic jams are observed only at the entrance to Dubai.
  • There is no passenger rail service between cities in the UAE, so you need to plan your trip by car or bus.
  • For a trip from Sharjah or Dubai airports to Ajman, it is better to order a transfer – individual or group.

Despite the transport difficulties, holidays in the emirate of Ajman are suitable for family tourists and independent travelers. There are always a lot of relatively new hotel complexes on the coast, there are entertainments for adults and children. It can be reached relatively quickly from UAE airports.

Tip: when ordering a transfer, be guided by the time of check-in at the hotel. This usually happens at 2:00 pm. Departure should be planned by 12:00.

How to get to Dubai

In terms of outdoor activities, entertainment and shopping, Dubai is a good choice. His alternatives, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, do not fit in a number of ways. To the first emirate to go further, the distance of Ajman Abu Dhabi is 158 km or 98 miles. There are few attractions in Sharjah, plus it is a non-alcoholic emirate. Therefore, vacationers choose a trip to Dubai.

By bus

The only bus station in Ajman is located in the capital of the same name. It is located next to the local market Al Mosala souk. This is a small one-story building and several platforms for boarding passengers. The first bus leaves at 6:20, the last at 20:50. To travel, you need to buy a NOL card, the price is 2 dirhams. The fare from Ajman to Dubai is 20 dirhams, depending on the final destination.

Things to know about Ajman bus station:

  • Buses do not accept fares, you need to top up your NOL card in advance.
  • There is only one direct route to Dubai – the E400.
  • On it you need to get to the stop Union Square Bus Station Dubai.
  • Then you need to transfer to the red metro line and get to the center.

For excess baggage, you need to pay extra separately. The actual departure time of the bus does not always coincide with the schedule. The latter and the distance from Ajman to Dubai can be seen on the information board, which is located in the bus station building.

Important: the station staff does not know Russian and the language and is a little arrogant, do not expect good service from them.

By car, taxi

To travel by car in the UAE, you can rent a car. Price – from 50 dirhams per day, depending on the brand and duration of rental. Car rental services are located in the capital and some hotels. For registration, you need a passport, an international driver’s license, a cash deposit.

Travel itinerary from Ajman to Dubai:

  • From the city, take the E11 highway.
  • Follow it through Sharzhda.
  • Cross the bypass and follow to Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed .

In the city you need to choose a parking place, in the metropolis they are paid. During the trip, you can use the toll road, the fare on it is 4 dirhams.

Taxis can be ordered in the hotel lobby or “caught” on the road. The landing price is 20 dirhams. Additionally, you need to pay 2 crossings of the emirate of Sharjah and Dubai for 20 dirhams. The total cost of the trip will be 100-120 dirhams. It is necessary to control the route, drivers do not always choose the optimal distance between Ajman and the Emirate of Dubai.
